My Work

I have a diploma in humanistic and Integrative Counselling following three years training at the Bath Centre for Psychology and Counselling (bcpc), graduating in 1993.

In 1997 I was awarded Accreditation by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and I abide by their professional code of ethics. During 1999/2000 I trained as a Counselling Supervisor at Birmingham University.

As part of my continuing professional development I have attended numerous short courses on a wide range of subjects, the most useful have included those on anxiety, trauma, depression, sexual abuse, relationship problems and issues for gay and lesbians. I also have focused on our spiritual dimension which includes our need to feel connected to our community, our world and to have a sense of meaning.

I have been working privately since I qualified and have been fortunate enough to have a flourishing practice which has provided over twenty years of valuable experience.

My approach stems from my belief in the capacity of individuals to create their own solutions to problems. I aim to build an environment of trust, honesty and acceptance, in such an atmosphere people may explore their issues with a feeling of safety.
